Women’s Bike Racing Clinic – 27 June 2009

June 24th, 2009 by pghracing | Filed under Calendar, News

On Saturday, 27 June 2009, the Allegheny Cycling Association and Steel City Endurance Coaching will be hosting a Women’s only introduction to Bicycle racing at the Washington Oval. Come and learn what bike racing is all about in a supportive, encouraging, non-threatening environment.

We will introduce riders to the banked oval, practice taking the turns at safe speeds, discuss safety while riding in a group, practice skills such as bike handling, pacelining and passing.

We will also have some sit down time on the bleachers to talk about nutrition and any other questions that come up.

Sessions will be led by Coach Suzanne Atkinson, various members of the Steel City Endurance Racing Team and Chris Mayhew of JVB Coaching.

Cost will be $10 which includes insurance and a one-day USA Cycling license. You will need a road bike in good working order, helmet required.
