And some results from last weekend:
Stoopid 50
Gerry Pflug rides away with first place single speed at the Stoopid 50. Gerry grabbed 5th overall, behind some heavy hitters like Jeff Schalk, Chris Eatough and Harlan Price.
Big Bear
LOTS of people went to the 24 hours of Big Bear in WV this weekend. There are lots of results to sort through. Some standouts:
- Probikes went 1/2 in the Women’s 24 solo category with Suz Falvey (1st) and Chrissy Buerkle (2nd). Both put in over 130+ miles.
- Pittsburgh’s team argyle (rob lochner, brad schmalzer, don powers, aaron shelmire) took 3rd in the Expert team, 4th overall.
- Pittsburgh Bellas (Lauren Mika, Lee-Ann Beatty ,Michelle Johnson, Cristina Frentiu) took 1st in the Women’s Expert Team Category.
Ohio State Road Championships
Although there are no results posted, the Ohio State Road Champs took place on the classic Ceasers Creek course this weekend.
-Justin Kanter Cat Racing hung on for 12th in a brutal 85 mile 1/2 race. There were 20 or so finishers out of a pretty full field.
-Steve Kurpewski managed a 2nd place in an 80 man cat 3 field.
Mike Murad Memorial Road Race
- Jake Lifson took 7th in a “what was left of the field” sprint in the 72 mile 1/2 race.
Carlisle 40KTT
- Adam Anderson (WV healthcare) killed it (3rd overall) with a 53:13. 28.00 mph.
- Glenn Snyder (upmc) took 1st 50+ (12th? overall) with a 55:50
- Brian Hopkins (AG3R) won the cat3 and took 4th overall!
Winning time was a mind blowing 51:05 for 29.2 mph for 40k (25 miles). Does that make you feel slow?
Recognition will be given to one time Pittsburgh resident John S Minturn for soloing in minutes ahead of the P/1/2 field at the Cheyney RR. Nobody else in the picture. Is that a time trial frame?
Justin Kanter proves that it is all about speed, not image.
