Half-Price Cyclocross ENTRY FEES!

I’d love to have some folks from the Pittsburgh and “Shogren-town” area to come race at the New Jersey State Fair SpectaCross July 31-August 1.  Yeah, it’s a long way – so I want to help with your gas by letting anybody from your area enter for half-price.  You can enter one race for half price, you can enter four races for half price.  You can even enter the MTB speed trials for half price. If you’re from the Pittsburgh or Morgantown area, you’ll only pay half price to race at the NJ State Fair.

The New Jersey State Fair SpectaCross is the only bike race in North America that is actually an official and featured part of a State Fair! The New Jersey State Fair / Sussex County Farm and Horse Show draws nearly a quarter million visitors annually and is one of the oldest and richest equestrian competitions in America.  But on the opening weekend of this year’s fair, the special competitive entertainment will be CYCLOCROSS! The short, technical course will feature a run-up over the top of a car in honor of the monster truck shows and demolition derbies that will be held in the same arena later on in the week.  And fireworks follow the Friday night races!

Here’s the deal:

• You must live in the general vicinity of Pittsburgh or Morgantown
• You may enter as many races at half price as you want.
• You may also use the half-price entry to compete in the MTB Speed Trials held adjacent to the cyclocross.  Speed Trials is part observed trials, part trail riding on a timed obstacle course that gets more difficult each round.
• Tell us which classes you want to enter (see http://www.bikereg.com/events/register.asp?eventid=7612 for schedule, (additional events may be added).  You will also find links for lodging on the BikeReg flyer. ** Note: The half price entries are not available through BikeReg.com.  You must email KenG@SpectaSport.com to obtain the half price entry fees.
• Give us some interesting info on yourself like “I was the state Road Race Champion in 1941 and I groom dogs for a living” (real information only, Gunnar).
• Your half-price entry automatically gets you admission to the fair (an $11 value!)
• Tell us if you’re planning on bringing non-racing family/friends (we’re finalizing details on discount fair admissions for them).
• We are doing this for promotional purposes, so you should feel incredibly guilty if you take advantage of this offer without telling lots of people that you’re competing in the “New Jersey State Fair SpectaCross”.
