Join us for the 6 th Annual Greenbrier Challenge mountain bike race.
The outstanding Greenbrier course is challenging for Pros yet rideable
and fun for beginners. So, bring the whole family out for the day or
the whole weekend. There’s plenty to do at this park nestled in the
Western Maryland Appalachians, including hiking parts of the
Appalachian Trail, boating and fishing on Greenbrier’s beautiful lake,
and enjoying hot showers in the campground’s top-notch facilities. All
within an hour’s drive from Washington, DC and Baltimore, MD.
AMBC Race Gives Qualifications for All Classes for U.S. National Championships!
The Greenbrier Challenge will be one of the few northeast U.S. races
where riders can qualify for invitations to Nationals! (see details).
AMBC Race Also Serves as Maryland State Championships!
Again in 2009, the top 3 USAC Licensed riders in each class and from
all states will be awarded Maryland State Championship Titles/Medals!

Special Significance for Junior Racers:
Greenbrier is in the Alison Dunlap Junior Olympic Series. Junior
racers of all levels (Racer age groups 10 $ Under, 11-12, 13-14,
15-16, 17-18, 15-18 at all levels (Jr. Cat, Cat 3, Cat 2, Cat 1) will
receive special Junior Olympic medals and gain points in the Junior
Olympic Series toward Series Prizes.
Marathon Race continued for 2009!
The race will start at 9:30am and continue through the Category 3
(Beginner) and Category 2 (Sport) race periods on the same course.
Re-entry to the course will be closed after 1:30pm and remaining
racers will finish on that lap, generally racing 4+ hours.
No Sandbagging!
If you are an Expert Racer, you need a license, or else race SS,
Clydesdale, or Marathon
LICENSING: No License required for Cat 2 (Sport), Cat 3 (Beginner),
SS, Junior, Clydsdale and Marathon and Juniors (except Junior Cat 1
(Expert)) classes. Annual USAC license REQUIRED for Cat 1 and Pro.
Annual licenses will be available for purchase on race day.
Annual USAC license holders will recieve a $5 discount when paying for
registration.
